It is our pleasure to introduce to you a blog series where riders can share their stories about how they find their inspiration through the wisdoms, tribulations, and success stories from other riders. We asked riders who and what inspired them, and they answered! Without further ado, Ecogold is proud to present the next story in the Riders That Inspire series:

Sarah Sage

Sarah Sage

Sarah Sage is an area 3 adult amateur rider who balances riding while attending college full time. Sarah caught the riding bug when she was 6 and the rest is history. Sarah presently competes her horse Professor Moriarty at training level and aspires to move up the levels with him. She told us who inspires her.

Jessica Phoenix and Pavarotti

Jessica Phoenix is a rider with incredible balance, courage, confidence and talent. As a 4* rider and Olympian, she is proof that you can juggle a family and a successful riding career. Eventing is arduous at any level, let alone at the top. Horses are so demanding that they often become our whole lives; arguably synonymous with our own children. It is hard to find the balance between being a mother, friend, wife, and so many other hats that we wear. It is incredibly encouraging to see a rider excel at balancing all of those roles.

With her recent injury; mere months after giving birth to her beautiful daughter, Jessica bounced back and was named to the Canadian Pan Am team.  This speaks volumes of her ability and the confidence she inspires in her teammates and team leaders. Jessica Phoenix proves that while every rider may not make it to the top, you certainly can balance life with horses. This inspires me to keep fighting to do what I love and find that perfect support system that will help nurture me to become a rider half as talented and impressive as Jessica has proven herself to be.
