Burgundy, olive, orange, and more… with the new season comes the need for gorgeous fall colors. Ecogold has you covered for all your seasonal needs. But which colors go best with your horse’s coat? It’s important to stay up on the latest fall trends, without causing a fashion disaster with clashing colours! Here are our recommendations:

Chestnuts look best in earthy olive green, brown, or a pop of royal blue. Cool, earthy tones are your friend, and bold shades are in. Brown might seem boring, but it’s a classic, flattering choice. Since chestnuts have a red undertone to their coats, avoid any red or burgundy.

Bays can rock bright fall colours like red, orange, and champagne. Probably the most versatile coat to color match, bays come in a variety of shades. Dark bays will shine flashy red tones, while a cherry bay will pop in champagne. Stay away from neutral colour for bays this fall. Go big or go home with color!

Greys will amaze in dark shades this autumn; think burgundy or navy. A grey horse can match any color, and these rich fall shades will make your horse stand out. From dark dapple to flea bitten gray, these fall colors will create a gorgeous and flashy contrast.

Palominos and Buckskins should go with the classic hunter green. Since they have warm undertones to their coat, it’s best to match with a warm-toned pad. Burgundy is also a solid choice for palominos in fall. But whatever you do, avoid the colour yellow – it will clash.

Still stuck and haven’t found the right color for your horse? Color theory has your back. Pick an opposing color from a color wheel, and you can never go wrong.
