For Carole Minhinnick, horses are more than just a pastime—they’re a family tradition that spans generations.

As a dedicated horsewoman, Carole’s love for horses began at an early age, and she passed that passion down to her daughters and granddaughter. “I’ve been riding for as long as I can remember,” said Carole, 76, who lives near London, Ontario. Her first pony at the age of five sparked a lifelong bond with horses, a bond she now shares with her daughter Terry, 59, and granddaughter Ashlyn, 20.

“My daughters rode before they could even walk,” Carole said. “And they’re still riding to this day.”

For years, Carole competed alongside her daughters in hunter/jumper circuits across Canada, and now she enjoys riding with Terry and Ashlyn. “I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Carole reflects with a smile.

Ashlyn, a university student, is “just as crazy as we are” about horses, Carole says. “She loves to ride, and she’s quite competitive.”

“We ride together and go to shows together,” Carole described. “To share that passion with them is just wonderful.”

Ecogold is proud to celebrate International Women’s Day by recognizing incredible horsewomen like Carole, Terry, and Ashlyn, who carry on their family tradition of passion for horses. Whether it’s riding together, competing, or simply enjoying time spent in the saddle, the love of horses unites us all—and sharing this bond with loved ones makes it even more special.
